Outdoor Education

Birch class from Oakfield House School had the chance to make their own bird feeders from left over milk bottles at school. The children cut holes in the bottles and stuffed them with lard and bird seeds. This was a rather smelly job, but all the children did really well.

After this the class made their own bread and then went outside to make a fire to cook lunch on. The fire took a little while to get going, but all the children were very patient. We heated a pan of hotdogs for lunch and then we made popcorn. The children were amazed to see the corn popping around the pan, some even popped out of the pan! This was a great day had by all.
