Oakfield is a country house built in the 1880s, set in eight acres of beautiful parkland.
We are an independent school catering for autistic children aged between 4-12 who may have a range of additional needs.
We provide a unique provision for autistic children and those with complex needs in purpose-built classroom environments and a series of sensory spaces that work seamlessly with the classrooms.
We are fortunate to have Forest Schools and our own Scouts where pupils can maximise the benefits of our parkland and enhance their experiences every day outdoors. In addition to this we have an Immersive Classroom where we can take the children anywhere, anytime, from within the safety of our walls.
Our pupils are currently divided into eight small classes located in our main school building, The Willows, Maple and Acorns in the pod. Our staff team have substantial experience and qualification, ensuring each of our pupils receives the very best support available regardless of their individual needs.
We view each child as a true individual with their own strengths, aspirations, interests and areas that they need to personally develop. We work hard to maintain a family atmosphere at school where an ethos and culture of valuing and mutual respect is evident.
Our staff are committed to best practice and the wellbeing of our pupils is paramount.
Our experience shows us that working together with families and other professionals brings about the best progress for each child.
